Power Outage and Xfinity Outage Likely Due to Infrastructure Upgrade Near Belmont Ave South of Olive St in Arlington Heights

A power outage has been reported that is expected to last for about three hours due to a power outage from approximately 11:59 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2026 in the block of 1200 North Belmont Avenue in north-central Arlington Heights. Although ComEd indicated the power outage was "under investigation," infrastructure upgrades were underway with M.J. Electric in the area.

A second outage status report from ComEd was displayed near Belmont Ave and Marshall St later in the afternoon. Hawthorne St was also closed between Belmont Ave and Haddow Ave Friday afternoon with M.J. Electric on the scene.

Xfinity outages were also reported in the area as far south as Hawthorne Street near Belmont Avenue.
